Stephen Pulley serves as the Medical Director for the Fire & EMS Department, and oversees the training, certification, and care provided by the paramedics and emergency medical technicians. The Fire and EMS Department is overseen by Chief of Fire & EMS, James Johnson, and functions as a branch of the Department of Public Safety, which also includes the police department and is overseen by Director and Chief of Police Thomas Nolan. With township fire companies dating back to 1920, the Upper Merion Township Fire & EMS continues to provide dedicated services to the citizens and visitors of Upper Merion. Our members respond to all types of emergencies out of five different stations within the township and provide outstanding emergency medical care and fire rescue services.
